The doctor will help you to identify aspects of your lifestyle that might be putting you at risk and provide guidelines to make the necessary changes to improve your health. After a thorough medical ( N.B. no rectal or pelvic examination will be performed), blood will be taken for a series of tests to screen all the major organs and systems of the body. This health assessment could lead to the early detection of disease and present you with the opportunity to deal with health problems early on. - Questionnaire and discussion of medical history with the doctor

- Blood pressure measurement
- Weight and height assessment with body mass index (BMI) calculation
- Visual acuity assessment
- Peak flow test (indicator of lung disease)
- Special Investigations
- Full blood count ( anaemia,infection,leukaemia screen )
- Kidney function tests
- Liver function tests
- Cholesterol profile
- Random blood glucose (diabetes or glucose impairment )
- Thyroid function tests ( over or underactive thyroid)
- Urine analysis ( protein, blood, infection screen, glucose)
Additional tests can be added to the Platinum Reassurance Medical should you have any specific concerns. These are priced separately and could include the following:
- Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) for male patients over 45
- Uric Acid level ( Gout -potential indicator)
- Rubella IgG ( Rubella immunity status)
- Cervical Smear
Once all your blood test results are known, we will write to you with a full summary report of your 'Platinum' Reassurance Medical, together with our comments and recommendations. we can send a complimentary copy to your G.P. for their records should you wish.
